Instagram has a cool new feature called Nametag - an easy way to add people you meet in real life! It's quite similar to Snapchat's Snapcode feature. Watch this video to learn how to customize your own Instagram Nametag and how to scan your friends' Nametags to add them on Instagram.
To create your own Nametag, open Instagram and go to your profile. Then tap the menu icon in the top left corner, and select Nametag. You can customize the look of your Nametag in a couple different ways. To change the background color, tap the background of your Nametag. Keep tapping til you see a color you like. You can also change your background to be a collage of Emojis, or a selfie. To switch to an Emoji background, tap Color at the top of your screen. Tap one of the Emojis to change what Emoji is all over your background. Tap Emoji to switch to a selfie background. You’ll see a small camera window in the middle of your screen with a fun sticker over it. Tap the sticker to change it. When you’re ready, snap a selfie to use as your background.
To scan someone else’s Nametag, tap Scan Nametag at the bottom. Then move your device so that your friend’s Nametag is in view of your camera, and a window will quickly appear on your screen with the option to follow that person, or go to their profile.
If you don't see this feature on your profile yet, check to make sure you've updated the Instagram app to the newest version.
